Now this pizza is a must make! This is an easy and flavorful one to throw together. The smoky yet tangy taste of the chorizo paired with the fennel and garlic of the Italian Sausage is divine. It’s a Madison’s Table Original & favorite.
Ingredients:
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 6-8 Tbsps Trader Joe’s Tomato Basil Marinara Sauce
- 1 package Sliced Chorizo
- 0.5-1 lb Italian Sausage
- 1-2 cups Shredded mozzarella
- Shaved Parmesan
- Salt & Pepper
- Fresh Basil
Preparation:
- Homemade Crust: Preheat the oven to 425℉ and arrange the oven rack in the lowest position. Store bought crust: follow directions on package.
- Cook the Italian Sausage in a small skillet.
- Homemade Crust: Roll out your homemade crust on a lightly floured surface. Store bought crust: remove from packaging.
- Place on a large baking sheet.
- Homemade Crust: Drizzle lightly with the olive oil and sprinkle lightly with salt. Take a fork and poke holes in the dough.
- Spread the marinara sauce all over the surface of the dough.
- Sprinkle mozzarella all over the surface of the pizza crust.
- Top with chorizo and cooked italian sausage.
- Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.
- Bake the pizza until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly, 13 to 15 minutes.
- At the 10 minute mark I usually sprinkle a little extra mozzarella on top.
- Remove from the oven. Sprinkle generously with the parmesan shavings and fresh basil.
- Cut into slices and serve immediately!
