Honey Garlic Chicken Wings

These wings are another fun side I served on Super Bowl Sunday!! Let’s just say these did not last long.

Ingredients:

  • 4-4.5 lbs split chicken wings
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • Sauce
    • 1/2 cup honey
    • 4 Tablespoons soy sauce
    • 4 large garlic cloves, crushed
    • 1 Tablespoon ginger, finely diced
    • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
    • 1/3 cup water
    • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Pat the wings dry with paper towels.
  2. In a ziplock bag combine the flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Toss the wings & remove any excess flour.
  4. Line a pan with foil and then parchment paper on top. This is important because the foil with grab any excess liquid & the parchment will allow the wings to crisp up.
  5. Spread the wings out in a single layer, then use a pastry brush to apply a thin layer of Olive Oil to each.
  6. Bake for 35 minutes. Flip the wings at the 20 minute mark.
  7. Meanwhile, combine sauce ingredients in a small pan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer about 10-15 minutes or until slightly thickened and sauce coats the back of a spoon.
  8. Take wings from the oven, toss with sauce and return to the oven for 10 minutes. Flip then after 5 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. As the sauce cools, it thickens. You can stir the wings every few minutes to coat in the sauce as it thickens.
  10. Serve on a platter with a side of ranch & some veggies. Enjoy!
