This recipe is an original! I love puppy chow & this is a fun holiday twist to it!
Ingredients:
- 8 – 10 cups Rice Chex Cereal
- 1 – 1.5 cup semisweet or dark chocolate chips
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 12 candy canes, crushed
- 1 – 2 cups powdered sugar
Preparation:
- First, pour the cereal into a large mixing bowl.
- Next, melt the chocolate chips with the butter in a double boiler, stirring occasionally.
- Once it is completely melted, pour the chocolate over the cereal. Make sure to stir while pouring. This will help the chocolate coat the cereal evenly.
- Take a meat mallet and place the candy canes in a ziplock bag. Using the solid side of the mallet, crush the candy canes into small pieces. Once this is done, add the crushed candy canes to the mixing bowl.
- Pour the cereal into a Ziploc bag and add the powdered sugar. Seal the bag and shake until the cereal pieces are evenly coated with sugar. This might need to be done in batches.
